How long does food last in a freezer in a power cut?

If there’s a power cut, your freezer can keep food frozen for up to 48 hours if it's full and the door remains closed. A half-full freezer will maintain a safe temperature for about 24 hours. To help keep food safe longer, try to keep the door closed as much as possible and consider adding ice packs. If the freezer temperature rises above 0°C (32°F) for more than two hours, the food could spoil. Always check food quality and throw away anything that looks or smells off after a prolonged power outage.
